Autoimmune Oophoritis

Autoimmune Oophoritis

Autoimmune oophoritis is a complex condition characterized by the immune system mistakenly attacking the ovaries, leading to inflammation and dysfunction. At our company, we are dedicated to providing diagnostics and therapy development services for autoimmune oophoritis.

Overview of Autoimmune Oophoritis

Autoimmune oophoritis is a rare autoimmune disorder that affects the ovaries, resulting in inflammation and damage to ovarian tissue. This immune response can lead to primary ovarian insufficiency (POI), characterized by the loss of ovarian function and fertility. Women with autoimmune oophoritis often experience irregular or absent menstrual periods, hormonal imbalances, and various symptoms related to ovarian dysfunction. It is believed that a breakdown in immune tolerance leads to the immune system mistakenly recognizing ovarian tissue as foreign, triggering an immune response against the ovaries.

Therapy Discovery and Development for Autoimmune Oophoritis

Current therapeutic approaches primarily focus on hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to alleviate symptoms and prevent complications associated with ovarian insufficiency. Estrogen replacement therapy, combined with progesterone, is used to maintain bone health and alleviate menopausal symptoms. Immunosuppressive therapies, such as corticosteroids and other immunomodulatory agents, may be considered in severe cases or when the immune response is particularly aggressive. However, the use of these therapies is still under investigation, and their efficacy in autoimmune oophoritis is not well-established.

Our team of highly skilled researchers and scientists focuses on gaining insights into the underlying mechanisms of autoimmune oophoritis. As shown in the figure below, we provide a variety of autoimmune oophoritis therapeutic development services, you can click on the link to learn more.

Our Services

In addition to therapeutic development services, our expertise lies in the meticulous development and validation of robust animal models and in vitro models specifically designed for autoimmune oophoritis. These invaluable models enable us to accurately simulate the disease conditions, meticulously investigate the efficacy of potential therapeutic interventions, and rigorously evaluate their effectiveness. By harnessing the power of these models, we gain profound insights into the intricate disease mechanisms underlying autoimmune oophoritis, propelling us toward the accelerated development of innovative and transformative therapies.

Spontaneous Autoimmune
Oophoritis in AIRE Null Mice

AIRE Null mice have emerged as a valuable model for studying spontaneous autoimmune oophoritis. These mice closely resemble humans with APS-1 syndrome, exhibiting a high incidence of spontaneous ovarian disease and female infertility.

Zp3 Peptide
Immunization Animal Models

In addition to studying spontaneous models, we also focus on inducing autoimmune oophoritis in adult mice through immunization with Zp3 peptide. This approach allows us to explore the role of T-cell and B-cell epitopes in disease development and progression.

Cell-Based Models

Our company employs state-of-the-art techniques to establish primary ovarian cell cultures, ensuring the maintenance of cell viability and functionality. These cultures provide a valuable platform for investigating immune cell infiltration, autoantibody production, and the inflammatory response within the ovarian microenvironment.

Organoid Models

Ovarian organoids are three-dimensional structures composed of multiple cell types that self-organize and mimic the architecture of the ovaries. Our company has pioneered the development of ovarian organoids, providing a valuable tool for in vitro validation of therapeutics.
